July 9th, 8:00 EST
Pull-out is put away, breakfast is eaten (some raisin bran mutation with whole milk, a cup of OJ and water– who needs catering?) Greg is already up and out, taking his poor traumatized daughter Kaelin to day care. Tamar, Greg’s wife and Kaelin’s Mom, had a peaceful resigned air to her. Don’t fool yourself, friends– no matter how much the artistes whine, low-budget horror filmmaking is hardest on the families.
Brooke Lewis, actress, producer, entreprenuer and go-getter, called this morning at 7:00 am. She went to the local Doubletree, opting out on Greg’s hospitality, so that she could get some quality, uninterrupted sleep. (She’s been under the weather and has been trying to get over it for months.) As luck would have it, there was a fire alarm at the Doubletree at 5 am, and the entire hotel had to be evacuated. At 7, she was just getting back into her hotel room. So as rumpled as I feel, I guess things could be worse.
We managed to wrangle some toilet paper for the downstairs bathroom. I know you were all concerned about that, or at least about the state of my computer keypad.
Also, one of our actresses dropped out last night. My job for the morning is to call the other actresses who auditioned for the small but important role. So when’s a brother supposed to leearn his lines?
